Data Dialogues is an informal, discussion-driven event where members of the DSI and the broader university community share insights into their work, spark interdisciplinary conversations and explore potential collaborations. The focus is on interactive engagement rather than formal presentations—so no slides (or just a few, if needed)! Instead, the idea is to introduce your work in an accessible way, followed by an open discussion and Q&A with attendees.
Abstract:
In this informal talk, I’ll share the core ideas and vision behind my recent application to the Lancaster University Expression of Interest for the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, which reached the interview stage. The proposal aimed to integrate biodiversity, climate, and social data to improve how we prioritise, design, and assess tropical forest restoration. While I wasn’t supported by LU this time, I see this as a valuable opportunity to gather feedback, explore interdisciplinary connections, and discuss how to strengthen and refine the project for a future resubmission. I’d really welcome thoughts from the DSI community on how to push the idea further.
